SAN FRANCISCO WING CHUN GRANDMASTER CHRIS CHAN (CHAN SHING) CELEBRATES
HIS 50TH KUNG FU ANNIVERSARY IN SAN FRANCISCO
"With this system, you can be the strongest man in the world"~
Grandmaster Chris Chan
San Francisco, CA, January 2005 ---- It was the winter of 1955,
50 years ago a young man took upon himself to harness the powers
of Wing Chun Kung Fu in Hong Kong. He learned the ancient Chinese
martial art from a man by the name of Yip Man. After years of intense
training and powered by a dream of one day moving to the United
States, he decided to make an adventurous journey to San Francisco
to continue traditions.
On January 22, 2005, Grandmaster Chris Chan will celebrate a half-century
of his Wing Chun Kung Fu career in San Francisco. Grandmaster Chan
and his students from the U.S. Wing Chun Kung Academy will demonstrate
the martial art in San Francisco's renowned Chinatown at the Far
East Café on Grant Avenue. There will also be special demonstrations
of Wing Chun Technique "Kill without Kill," the most explosive
art and devastation of close-range combat "the Final Game of
Death" and Wing Chun wooden dummy combat training.
Wing Chun Kung Fu is highly effective for men and women specializing
in high-risk security, counter-terrorism, and other law enforcement
professions. Wing Chun Kung Fu is a national treasure of the Chinese
martial arts fighting system because it takes a more sophisticated
and scientific approach to combat and self-defense. China has especially
selected Wing Chun Kung Fu training for their armies and all law
enforcement professionals. Over the past 50 years it has gained
a major popularity in the United States and throughout the world.
