He learned the ancient Chinese martial art from a man by the name of Yip Man. After years of intense training and powered by a dream of one day moving to the United States, he decided to make an adventurous journey to San Francisco to continue traditions. On January 22, 2005, Grandmaster Chris Chan will celebrate a half-century of his Wing Chun Kung Fu career in San Francisco. Grandmaster Chan and his students from the U.S. Wing Chun Kung Academy will demonstrate the martial art in San Francisco's renowned Chinatown at the Far East Café on Grant Avenue. There will also be special demonstrations of Wing Chun Technique "Kill without Kill," the most explosive art and devastation of close-range combat "the Final Game of Death" and Wing Chun wooden dummy combat training.
